Amazon Instant Video services

Amazon acquired a number of TV series for its video streaming service in the last quarter. The company announced that it will show all ten episodes of the comedy series Transparent to its Prime Instant Video customers. This series became the number-one-ranked TV series on Prime Instant Video upon its debut.
Amazon also premiered all 10 episodes of the second season of another comedy series Alpha House exclusively on Prime Instant Video. It also plans to add five additional series in 2015—The Stinky & Dirty Show, Buddy: Tech DetectiveNiko and the Sword of Light, Table 58,and Just Add Magic.
It’s clear that Amazon has become an aggressive player in the video streaming market. It invested close to $100 million in acquiring new video content in the last quarter. Earlier this year, Amazon’s licensing agreement with Twenty-First Century Fox’s (FOXA) television distribution arm got it exclusive subscription rights to some popular TV shows and movies. A few months ago, Amazon announced it had reached a deal with HBO, owned by Time Warner (TWX), to offer some older HBO shows on its video streaming service.
